Many of us are sitting totally away from our home and hustling to chase our dreams.
You wake up and look at your vision board if you have one and just blush at the sight of you succeeding in life as you close your eyes to visualize. That dream job, the dream pay, the dream house, pet and what not?
But as you keep working hard towards your dream, you take a step back and contemplate. The day sleeps as the night awakens to remind you of how quiet life can get- a life where chasing dreams means leaving your own home. I, too, am a very homesick person who spends almost every single day since the past few years thinking. “Man, if only I could go back home”. I love being in touch with my family, my hometown and my culture. As someone who loves to do so, it obviously takes an awful amount of time to accustom myself to the brutal reality of living your ‘dreams’.
A few years before you leave your house, you get quite fed up. The rules and the overall interactions inside the house feels foreign and maybe even ‘irritating’ to some of us and we think after letting out a big sigh- “When that dream comes true, I will definitely leave this place”.
And now what?
You suddenly realise how cradled and easy life was before you left it. As they claim, you realize the worth of something that's long gone. From an established resident to an occasional visitor- living your life can cost all of these things. Quite sad, right?
Funny how, the same home we once wished to get out of has become a luxury to visit and live in.
I guess that’s the reality of growing up. You start missing the privilege you did as a child. Whenever I feel that way, I try to remind myself- “If I need to stay away to fulfill my dream and help my family out later on, I must juggle my life a bit”. I know things are harsh in reality but slowly you get used to the routine- the pain never truly goes away though.
Well, at least the doors to our home are always open. Waiting for our arrival.
